Family-friendly alpine idyl
Veysonnaz is a small authentic village located in the heart of the Four Valleys ski region, just 13km from Sion (where a train direct from Geneva airport takes just 1hr 40mins).
This little village offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, and a growing number of sumptuous chalets to base yourself in, providing excellent access to the 412km of inter-linked pistes and off-piste terrain available. Nendaz and Verbier are also in the Four Valleys, and link well with Veysonnaz.
Slightly smaller than its neighbour, Nendaz, Veysonnaz is a great family destination, with a range of easier slopes to entertain the relative novice alongside several harder pistes and off-piste hills to challenge the more experienced.
The village is home to the legendary Piste de L’Ours, where over 30 World Cup Downhill competitions have been held – and yet a run that can be enjoyed by all, given its wide slopes. For advanced skiers, the run from the Greppon Blanc ski lift to the Val Des Dix is one of the Alps’ best, never prepared and taking the adventurous skier on a dramatic scenic tour.
