The Pearl of the Alps
Known as the Pearl of the Alps, and rightly so, Saas Fee is our first resort located outside the Four Valleys. With a car-free village, idyllic rustic charm and a self-contained glacial ski terrain, Saas Fee has earned its place among the world’s uber-resorts.
It is a family-friendly village famed for reliable snow and endless sunshine, lying 1800m above sea level at the foot of Switzerland’s highest mountain, with skiing up to a breath-taking 3500m.
The resort offers guaranteed snow, a wide variety of slopes, cross country ski trails and sledging runs and spectacular hiking trails. Year-round attractions such as the world’s highest revolving restaurant and the world’s biggest ice grotto add to the charm of this unique destination.

Fancy skiing or snowboarding in the middle of summer? Saas Fee’s 3600m Allalin glacier is snow sure all year round, and the resort generally opens for summer skiing from mid/late July. The glacier gives 20km of pistes and the Snow Park is open for those who fancy something a bit different to the usual beach-and-sangria summer holiday.
Top hiking terrain
Saas Fee is open all year round. The resort’s summer activities include some of the most picturesque hiking you will find. In 2014 www.alpensicht.com gave the Saastal and its great hiking terrain ‘5 Stars for Hiking and Mountain Tours’:
- Walkway and themed trail network now extends to over 320km
- 15km of marked Nordic walking and jogging paths
- Many guided mountain tours of different levels
